Jeff has 40+ years of aquatic management experience ranging from coaching to facility management and small repairs to major facility renovations. Jeff is a very hands on owner and is active and visible on our pool decks. His knowledge pertaining to pool operations and team building leads our industry. He is a Licensed Pool builder and now leads the companies facility renovation services.

Carolina Pool Management  provides pool management, lifeguard staffing services and pool maintenance services across greater Charlotte.   

We operate in the following areas: Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, Lancaster County, Union County, Gaston County, York County, Matthews, Mint Hill, Gastonia, Monroe, Rock Hill, Tega Cay, Fort Mill, Pineville, Belmont, Waxhaw and surrounding areas.

Brandon Vaughn 
Vice President of Operations

Brandon is an 18+ year employee of Carolina Pool Management. He is responsible for the mechanical operations of our facilities to include spring openings, fall closings, facility appearance, and repairs/renovations. Additionally, he oversees customer relations and communications. Brandon is visible on our pool decks and has a stellar reputation in our industry and with our customers.

Brennan Gaeckle 

Human Resources/Lifeguard Operations Director

Brennan has worked with the company since she was 15 when she started off as a lifeguard. She joined our staff full time in 2015 as our Human Resources Director and is a Certified Pool Operator. She is responsible for hiring all staff positions and placement, and works with LGIs to create effective in-service trainings. Additionally, she trains and supports our team to ensure they are strong and ready to provide quality service at your pool. Brennan will also be working side by side with Brandon Vaughn, and very closely with our customers, to help provide an enjoyable experience while working with Carolina Pool Management.

Mike Sudol

Regional Director

Mike came on full time with the company in 2014. He is a Certified Pool Operator with significant knowledge of facilities, lifeguarding, and pool operations. He is responsible for leading  spring openings and fall closings for all of the pools. Prior to joining the Carolina Pool Management team he was golf professional for 5 years aiding in his extensive customer service experience and operations knowledge.

Ann Waters 

Regional Director

Ann joined the team in 2009 as a seasonal employee before becoming a full-time employee in 2015. Ann is a Certified Pool Operator with significant knowledge of pools, lifeguarding, and customer service. She has great rapport with her customers and continuously makes an impact on all employees in her zone. Additionally, Ann coordinates all furniture and facility inventories and sales.

Kristin Sminchak

Staffing/Lessons/Safety Coordinator

Kristin's dream of working in aquatics began in 2005 when she became a lifeguard. Since that time she has acquired experience working as a Swim instructor, American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI), Supervisor, Traveling Aquatics Manager, Aquatics Director & Certified Pool Operator. She has worked closely with establishments such as Lifetime and the YMCA.  Kristin helps certify and train employees for Carolina Pool Management to provide a safer environment in the water and on the pool deck. She also works closely with our HR Director to develop strategic in-service training to ensure all safety standards are met, while also assisting with hiring and onboarding of seasonal employees. Kristin's growth and dedication within her first year of working with CPM has led her into a greater role, working closely with key customers to ensure long lasting relationships.

Gary Martin

Regional Director

Gary began his work with us in 2013 as a Summer Supervisor and mentor to our staff. After a 25-year career in technical sales, Gary entered the education world and taught math for 17 years, before retiring and joining our staff full time. Gary is a certified Lifeguard Instructor and Certified Pool Operator. He is a valued asset that brings years of experience and stability to our team and each of the pool decks he works on.

Sophie Williams

Staffing Coordinator & Lifeguard Instructor

Sophie began her aquatics career in 2010 with experience running pools in Ohio, West Virginia, and North Carolina. She joined the Carolina Pool Management team in 2021. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Marshall University and a Masters of Science from Otterbein University. She also has her American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor and is a Certified Park and Recreation Professional. Sophie is currently working with us as a Staffing Coordinator & Lifeguard Instructor to help ensure a successful summer for all!

Colleen Dougher

Regional Director & Lifeguard Instructor

Colleen has over 30 years of experience in aquatics and training and is extremely safety minded. She excels in customer service, team positivity and in-service training. Colleen is a certified Lifeguard Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, Water Safety Instructor Trainer, Certified Pool Operator, and former EMT. She joined the Carolina Pool Management team full time in 2021 and is working with us as a Regional Director & Lifeguard Instructor to guide our lifeguards in creating a safe, clean & fun summer for our patrons!

Joe Brennan

Service Supervisor

Joe has a 12+ year history working with the company in many different facets. He has worked within the management, construction, and service division during his tenure with us. Joe is a Certified Pool Operator who’s knowledge and seasoned experience on the pool deck ensures that all of his pools will have a safe, smooth summer.

Katherine Fisher

Service Supervisor

Katherine joined our team in 2015 as a Pool Manager and quickly became a major asset to our Service Division as a Supervisor. Katherine is a Certified Pool Operator as well as being lifeguard instructor certified through the YMCA. She has proven herself time and again as one of the hardest working team members we have. She is consistent in providing top notch service to all of her customers while providing a safe and fun environment for all to enjoy.

Our Safety Advisors

As part of The Pool Management Group network, our customers and employees receive the expertise of our internationally renowned Safety Advisors, Dr. Tom Griffiths and the team at Aquatic Safety Research Group. Their expertise is instilled throughout our risk reduction practices and lifeguard training.  

Dr. Griffiths was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame and is a Paragon Safety Award winner for his water safety efforts. He has been awarded the National Recreation and Park Association Distinguished Aquatic Service Award for a lifetime achievement and designated a European Lifeguard Academy Friend of the Academy for significant contributions to preventive Lifeguarding. Dr. Griffiths has also been named to  “Who’s Who in Aquatics- The Top 100”, and “Power 25- Top 25 most powerful aquatics professionals in the World”, by Aquatics International Magazine.

Dr. Griffiths has authored more than 300 papers that have been published in scientific, professional and popular journals. He is an external reviewer for the American Red Cross Swimming and Diving publications.

Our parent company, The Pool Management Group, and the 16 other companies in The Pool Management Group support Carolina Pool Management in our operations. In fact, the employees at headquarters don't run any pools directly. Instead, they're solely dedicated to assisting the various locations in our family of companies.
